Farm Shops, the Best Way to Shop

Nobody likes queuing up in crowded supermarkets in the current situation. Even at the best of times they are corporate and impersonal places.

Compare that to a nice drive in the country to visit a farm shop, where there is plenty of parking, friendly staff and produce so fresh it’s ridiculous!

Spencers Farm Shop in Wickham St. Paul, near Halstead is such a place.

Just before Christmas Darren Cox (Fruit and Veg guru from Sudbury), with over 30 years experience took over this much loved and established farm shop as a family business, with the help and support of his wife Jill and sons.

The Cox family are excited to be re-establishing the farm shop as a destination for people to visit.

Fresh fruit & vegetables are abound, but that’s not all, the shop includes; Jams, Honey, Eggs, wines,  beers even local cider from Stisted!  Add Value flowers, plants, and some country home essentials like coal, logs & kindling and you have a great mix of produce.

Plus, Spencers is not just a Farm Shop it also includes a well stocked gift shop.

In these unusual times the Cafe is unfortunately closed for now but Darren is looking forward to re opening when the time is right.

“ I want people to come and visit the farm shop regularly,  so I have to make sure the product is excellent and the range wide, said Darren.

from our visit I would say he has got it right!
