Moroccan cuisine created by descendant of the First Dynasty
Discerning food and travel connoisseurs have good reason to get excited for the re-opening, and expansion, of The Green Man in Takeley – this April.
If you’ve been dreaming of culture, and quality cuisine, but a trip to North African, seems unlikely this year, then you are most deserving to enjoy the next best thing: The most authentic food experience outside of Morocco.

The family business is run by Head chef, Sakia, a descendant of The First Dynasty, whose mission is to serve guests’ with the rich, and diverse food, from the famous: “Spice Route”- that defines Moroccan cuisine. Her mouth-watering creations, bring the delicious thousand- year old Tagine and indigenous Berber cooking traditions to life.
Situated by Stanstead Airport, Sakia, her nephew Zayn, and Dawn, have invested greatly: expanding the restaurant, which now offers extensive, safe outside seating, and a sumptuous new Shisha lounge, creating both a friendly relaxing atmosphere, with the standard of food that one might expect from a regal kitchen.
The former coaching house: circa 1625, has also undergone renovations to the conference and guest rooms, retaining many original features and charm, and offering the perfect choice for a weekend break, or to host corporate meetings.
News of the restaurant re-opening its doors on the 12th April, has already spread quickly. Not least of all amongst local celebrities’: with several TOWIE cast members’- including Chris and Jon Clark, confirmed to attend the soft launch in April and the Grand launch on 17th May.
