We’re all going on a Summer Holiday?

..or at least hopefully, by the middle of May

We hope everyone remains safe and well and hopefully feeling better with the warmer weather we’ve had recently. It certainly makes everything seem a little brighter when you can get out in the fresh air and enjoy some well needed sunshine.

We can’t believe it’s been a year since the first restrictions for travel came into force and we started amending clients travel plans and working around refunds.

The road has had its ups and downs, but Premier Travel Agency has been working tirelessly throughout to ensure we’ve had travel advisors available to assist those customers affected.

It certainly has highlighted to our clients the benefit of booking through an agent where they can just call us to make all the relevant changes and amendments for them.

With so many companies being unavailable, and call wait times extremely long it has made our role even more relevant to those not having the time or facility to make these changes themselves.

We’ve assisted customers that had not booked with us but were struggling to get relevant information and this is still something we are more than happy to undertake.

We have also received some lovely feedback, and on occasion gifts such as chocolates and flowers from our grateful customers which has been very warmly welcomed.

With the news that travel is set to resume in some form from the middle of May we can finally see some hope that things will start to return to normality:

Paul Waters our director said:

“Following the announcement of the plan out of lockdown by the Prime Minister,  Premier Travel have seen a big surge in, UK enquiries and bookings for this Spring and early summer.

With the news that some UK holidays may be permitted from 12 April – those in self-contained accommodation such as cottages, apartments and caravan parks without shared indoor facilities – 100’s of our clients are already planning their first trip of 2021″.

He also said

“overseas holiday enquiries and bookings have also increased by over 250% since the plans we released highlighting international travels planned restart from 17 May”

Popular destinations include Greece, Spain, Turkey the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands and a little closer to home Jersey, with a notable spike in demand from July onwards. There has been a big leap in family bookings for the summer holidays, especially for August, as well as people booking for the October half term and Christmas.

This has been the news we have been waiting for and the one consistent measure is everyone’s desire to travel again. Whilst we know the path may not always be a straight one, we do know that the passion we all feel for the industry we work in will help to see us through the other side and onto a bigger and brighter future.
